Casino War Software
When it comes to online casinos, there aren't a whole lot of different software providers who make casino war. This means that several of the online casinos use the same software with different logos on it.
If you like any of these games in particular, you can download casino war software here.
There are five main casino
software companies that make the
software:
Cryptologic, Playtech, RTG, Rival
Gaming, and Vegas Technology
Cryptologic and Playtech casinos do not allow bets from players in the United States. However, you are allowed to download and play their software for free.
RTG, Rival Gaming and Vegas Technology do allow gambling from players in the US
Two things I have noticed that is different between the software creators:
1) Not all have the option to bet
on Tie
2) Some casinos flip your first war
card up, then the dealer gets three
cards down and the fourth card up.
Others deal you a down card then
back and forth with the dealer until
both you and the dealer have three
cards down. The fourth card is
flipped up for both of you.
Similarities between them all:
1) When tied, all wars can be played by placing another bet or you can surrender half of your bet and not risk anything.
2) If you tie again during the war round, you win.
3) If you win the war round, you only win money for your original bet.
Cryptologic Casino War

Couple things to note about Cryptolic software:
1) I like that they have the
dealer's hands dealing the cards,
just something aesthetically nice.
2) As depicted above, your first war
card is turned over. The dealer
flips three cards down and the
fourth card is flipped up.
3) You can also see that there is a Tie bet available for a 10 to 1 payout.
Online Casinos that use Cryptologic: InterCasino, VIP Casino
Playtech Casino War

As you can see, Playtech's software also allows you to bet for a Tie. It also uses the same dealing strategy for playing a war.
Online Casinos that use Playtech's software: Bet365 and Golden Palace.
Real Time Gaming (RTG) Casino War

RTG has is definitely the opposite of the first two software creators.
You can see that there is no tie bet option and you are dealt three down cards during a war.
The screenshot is the perfect example of player winning a tie. The first card up is dealt to you. Oh no, a 2! I can't win. The next card comes up a two and I win the tie.
I like the bullets and bombs that have on the table and buttons, although I thought they should have put a white flag surrender button instead of Fold.
Important Note: Casino War is not available with RTG flash games, only the download casino.
Online casinos that use RTG software: Bodog, Cherry Red and Rushmore
Rival Gaming Casino War

Here is Rival Gaming's casino war software. You can see that it has a place for tie betting (currently being covered by my cards and the $1 bet was paid out 10 to 1.
It has the same style for dealing a war as Cryptologic and Playtech. I don't know how much of a difference this actually makes, but at least it makes you think. If the virtual cards are "shuffled" using a random number generator, then it would make a difference which card you get.
I don't think that there is an advantage one way or the other, just the feeling like "darn, i wish you gave me a couple more cards" when you lose.
Online casinos that use Rival software: DaVinci's Gold and This is Vegas - Update: these casinos no longer accept players from the United States as of 05/11
Vegas Technology Casino War

Vegas Technology's casino war software has the same system for dealing wars and no Tie bet like RTG. The difference between the two of them are how they set up the table.
Vegas Tech has an Ante and Raise betting spots whereas RTG just has the one spot to bet. I also like the traditional cannon decorations a little more than the modern bullets theme RTG went with.
